Yoga Retreat

Full immersion, a way of life
5 days of practice, 6 nights on site

This retreat is an invitation to rethink yoga through queer diversity, inclusivity and care.

Heteronormative codes are unpacked here. Every gender expression and every sexuality is welcomed and celebrated. Sexist behaviour has no place.

1. Yoga philosophy — an experiential approach
The founding texts — Patanjali and the Yoga Sutras, the Bhagavad Gita, the Upanishads — aren't studied as academic objects but lived through experience. Each philosophical idea is tied back to the practitioner's own life: what happens on the mat, in the body, in daily living. A living, embodied approach, free of dogma, that gives the practice meaning from the inside.

2. Postures and sequences — a varied practice
Learning and deepening the asanas, building coherent and progressive sequences. Work on fluidity, rhythm and the intention behind movement.

3. Anatomy and adjustment — precision in alignment
Understanding the body in motion: alignment, areas of tension, adapting to different body types. Learning to adjust and correct with respect for each practitioner.

4. Meditation — awareness through observation
Meditation techniques drawn from the Indian traditions. Work on concentration, inner silence and presence, and how to bring them into daily practice.

5. Living yoga day to day
Yoga as an art of living: daily rhythms, personal hygiene and food according to Ayurvedic principles. Vegetarian meals, prepared together, are part of the retreat itself.

The teacher
Mark is a twice-certified yoga teacher whose path is rooted in the Indian traditions. His spiritual journey built up gradually: Ayurveda first, then yoga philosophy through Patanjali and the Bhagavad Gita, before going back to the source with the Upanishads and later exploring some of the tantras. Out of all this he has shaped a resolutely pragmatic approach, free of dogma, in which the relationship to nature is fundamental and forms the ground of the way of life.

Participants
Fantasy Farm favours small groups: yoga retreats take a maximum of 8 people.
The retreat is inclusive, open to all genders and free of discrimination. It is not naturist.

How the week runs
Monday, the arrival day, is for settling in, discovering the place and forming the group.
Sessions run from Tuesday to Saturday.
On Sunday, the departure day, there's a final practice and a closing ritual before tidying up and saying goodbye.

Days follow a similar rhythm without being repetitive:

8:00 — Cleansing and hot lemon water
8:30–10:00 — Asanas (grounding and dynamic sequences)
10:00–10:30 — Breakfast
10:30–12:00 — Philosophy and way of life
12:30–13:30 — Lunch
13:30–15:00 — Rest
15:00–17:30 — Asanas (detail, adjustments, anatomy)
18:30–19:30 — Dinner
20:00–21:30 — Meditation
22:00–07:30 — Rest and quiet

Each day builds on the last, moving coherently towards the richness of practice and possibility that yoga opens up.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between the Harmonies Masculines workshop and the yoga retreat?
The yoga retreat is open to everyone, whatever their gender or sexuality, while the workshop is for men only. The workshop is naturist; the retreat is not. As for the content, the retreat is entirely devoted to yoga and covers a wide range of practices as well as the philosophical questions. It's an immersive, sustained approach, designed both for committed practitioners and for people with no experience who want to immerse themselves in yoga.

Do I need previous experience of yoga?
Experience helps but isn't required. What matters most is the seriousness of the intention, the quality of presence and a willingness to learn. The retreat starts from the foundations and covers what you need to understand yoga as a whole.

Can I take part if I'm not very flexible?
Yoga doesn't require flexibility — it teaches it. Intensive practice changes the body: it becomes both more supple and stronger. Yoga adapts to each person and to each stage of life.

Is the retreat only for yoga professionals?
No. It's for people working towards teaching as much as for those who take their own practice seriously. It's a chance to practise, to learn, to talk about yoga and to live it day to day.

What does the €900 cover?
Teaching, accommodation and meals. The annual membership of the association, €30, is additional.

Where does the retreat take place?
At Fantasy Farm, lieu-dit L'Armigère, Chatain, Vienne (86), Nouvelle-Aquitaine. The estate is a rural eco-sanctuary offering an intimate setting, well suited to concentration and immersion.

How do I register?
Just complete the registration form. A video call will follow, to get to know each other, answer any questions and confirm your place.

Is there a certificate at the end?
Yes — each participant receives a certificate of completion.

What if I need to cancel?
You can cancel free of charge up to 30 days before the retreat begins, and everything you have paid is refunded in full. After that, the deposit stays with the association. Please let us know as soon as you can.
